Walking the Streets of Mumbai

Today was the first day we got to wander through the streets in Mumbai! We were escorted by nice man who works for Arshiya to get some "real" food at Subway. We walked along the roads just like the locals I had watched yesterday, shocked that we weren't getting hit by all the traffic! We passed multiple street vendors where many employees working in the surrounding offices, along with the construction workers in the area, grabbed lunch. The majority of people we saw during lunch hour were men, because most women ate in the cafeteria. When we finally arrived to Subway, I saw that the menu was completely different and I realized I couldn't order anything but bread and meat because the vegetables weren't cooked or peeled. Therefore, lunch turned out to be another Indian meal in the cafeteria. On the walk back, our escort helped us buy bananas off the street and we got a big bundle for just 4 rupees which is $0.08! Everything is extremely inexpensive here, my entire lunch costs 67 rupees, equivalent to $1.50. Below are some pictures from today of our adventure outside the office :)
